five fun facts
Todd Hester, the mad parson, tagged me with a meme. I commented to him that there are two types of bloggers in the world: those who love memes and those who hate them. I'm the latter, but Todd is a friend and I figured my four readers might enjoy some fun facts about me. I'm going to change the original meme a bit and make this more like the old game "Two Truths and a Lie" - except it will be five truths and a lie. You get to guess which fun fact isn't factual. =)
So, here we go...
1. I played on a SC championship high school tennis team for five years in a row.HINT: look here and down about 7 pictures (the one w/cheerleaders; back row, 4th from the right)
2. I grew up with an irrational fear of becoming blind and losing one of my hands, so I would sometimes practice one-handed piano in the dark just to get ready.
3. As a 14-year old, and with some practice, I was able to solve the Rubix cube (legitimately, not taking it apart) in under 45 seconds. Of course, now there are youtube videos of people doing it that fast with their feet, but back then it was a big deal.
4. I started playing the guitar when I was four years old. [FALSE - it was when I was 20!]
5. I've written, played on, or engineered jingles for McDonald's, Dodge, Applebee's, Coke, and the Yellow Pages.HINT: this and this (yes, it says "designed for the 90s")
6. Whenever I'm in SC (my home state), my accent becomes more pronounced, and my wife thinks that's funny.
And, you know, with these things you are supposed to spread the love. So, I tag Leslie Nease, Dawn - the funny super-mom, Bruce Reyes-Chow, and Mark D. Roberts. These are all folks whose blogs I read regularly... I commend them to you!
